The Westmore difference
Clinical Awareness. Real Community Life.
Westmore was built around a simple idea: adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities should not have to choose between meaningful community life and thoughtful attention to health and safety. Our nursing background informs how we plan, communicate, train staff, respond to risk, and support each person’s individual needs, while the program itself remains focused on independence, relationships, choice, skill development, and belonging.
About Westmore
Our services
Support Designed Around the Person, Not the Program
Services are individualized around each person’s goals, preferences, support needs, and authorized plan. Westmore combines structured skill-building with community participation, practical independence, and respectful support.
Day Habilitation
A small, adult-focused center-based program combining life skills, social connection, purposeful activities, and community participation. Our Jersey City Day Habilitation center is currently in final development and certification.
02Individual Supports
One-to-one support focused on practical independence, personal routines, organization, self-advocacy, community navigation, and goal-directed daily living skills.
03Community Inclusion
Purposeful community-based experiences that support social connection, recreation, civic participation, volunteerism, and real-world skill development across Hudson County.
04Natural Supports Training
Practical education and guidance for family members and other natural supports so they can better understand, reinforce, and sustain the individual’s goals and everyday support strategies.
Westmore plans transportation to support participation in approved programming and community activities, subject to route, safety, capacity, accessibility, and service-specific requirements.

Community participation
A Week Built Around Choice, Skills & Community
Westmore programming blends center-based skill development with opportunities to participate in the surrounding community. Activities are planned with structure, but participant interests, individual goals, weather, accessibility, and support needs remain part of the decision-making process.
